"Matt Farmer will publicly announce his candidacy for the District 64 seat in the Texas House of Representatives during an event at 2 p.m. Tuesday on the lawn of the Courthouse on the Square in downtown Denton, according to a news release issued by his campaign. Farmer, 24, is seeking the seat currently held by state Rep. Lynn Stucky, R-Denton, who was elected in 2016. Farmer will seek the Democratic nomination during the March primaries leading up to the November election."

"Recent UNT graduate Matt Farmer announced his candidacy for the District 64 seat in the Texas House of Representatives as a Democrat Wednesday, Sept. 19 on the Denton Courthouse lawn at the Square. Farmer, 24, is a lifelong resident of North Texas and has lived in Denton for the past five years. Farmer first came to Denton to attend UNT, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English writing and rhetoric in May, with a double-minor in communications and political science..."
